We're watching a modern version of the #Kyklos (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyklos) play out: A monarchy (Twitter) was toppled by a #tyrant (Musk), which is leading the people to move collectively to a #democracy (Mastodon). However, weak #moderation (https://hachyderm.io/@mekkaokereke/109404380624512650) means many users of the #fediverse actually experience it as an #ochlocracy (rule by the mob), which could lead a few aristocratic servers to take over. Then via Embrace/Extend/Extinguish, one of those may become the new monarch.
