JillPark Se Hyun was a big part of why I started #KDrama #UndercoverHighSchool but her role in it is a big comedown from #KnightFlower I hope her next role is better and not a student because her scenes out of school uniform in this show that phase of her career doesn't have long to run

As a widow, Yeo Hwa cannot leave her home and has to mourn her late husband day and night. However, she often sneaks out at night and helps people in trouble by disguising herself as a man behind a black mask. One day, she hears that Kkot Nim, the little servant she adores, was taken for her father's debts. She goes to the inn where Kkot Nim is and sees Officer Park trying to take her by force.

A fun historical! A widow in a Joseon noble family has to mourn all day (for 15 years) & isn't allowed out. To appease her thirst for adventure & justice, the widow dons a mask at night & uses her martial arts skills to help the needy. She encounters the new captain of the Royal Guard & misunderstandings abound.
It does have court politics & the usual treason, but it's not terribly complicated. There's a lot of humor & the chemistry is unfortunately good because Joseon widows can't do anything about their desires.
Bromance, great side characters (with fabulous actors), sweet moments, thrills, fighting & some twists make it really entertaining. Most episodes have fun epilogues. The story is well-written with well-developed characters who still experience growth. It would be a great historical to start with.

s1m0n4#kdrama I'm dropping #KnightFlower halfway through episode 3.
I can't stand the FL character. It doesn't make much sense either. A supposedly ninja warrior by night is very clumsy and loses balance at every opportunity by day. She's also quite immature, contrasting with actress #LeeHaNee 's real age (she's in her 40s and she doesn't look much younger).
One of the most fun sageuk (historical) #kdrama series I've seen in the last year was #KnightFlower, about a woman who is a demure widow by day and secret ninja with a sense of humor by night. This #OST for #KPopMonday is just as fun as the show it features in.
