So I saw the first episode of #Kiramager.

The good:
Nice helmets, the gem designs sparkle nicely when you see them actually moving. Looks better than they did on the promo pictures.

I also I like the idea of people made of living crystal - made me think of the Land of the Lustrous manga.

The bad:
The direction, acting, visual and audio design do not just drive home that you're watching a children show - it repeatedly hammers it into your face.

I really dislike the sassy talking giant crystals (why is red's so big?) and the changers ("morphers") look huge and terrible.

Older #SuperSentai also had numerous childish moments as well but it was more campy than infantile (with some painful exceptions like Zyuranger and Fiveman).

The push toward infantilization made me skip Kyuranger and Ryusoulger. Looks like I'll be skipping Kiramager too. This isn't just insulting to adult fans, it's also insulting to children.
