"Tamon's B-side" oder dt auch "Echt jetzt, Tamon?!" habe ich schnell durchgeschaut - weils einfach Spaß macht!

Der #Anime dreht sich um ein Hardcore-Fan, deren Nebenjob als Haushaltshilfe sie in die Wohnung ihres geliebten Idols führt. Dort lernt sie dessen völlig andere Seite kennen: Der sexy Aufreißertyp ist privat schüchtern, hat kein Selbstbewusstsein und wandelt stets an der Grenze zur Depression. Während dessen hadert sie mit dem engen Kontakt zur ihrm, das sich garnicht mit dessen Verehrung verträgt. Später lernt sie die ebenso wenig vorzeigbaren privaten Seiten von dessen Kollegen kennen.

Die Idee ist jetzt nicht so neu. Idolserien gibt es viele, ebenso über Fankultur. Und romantische oder Alltagsgeschichten über überraschende private Seiten der Mitmenschen gab es seit den 1990ern (#KareKano) einige. Aber hier gelang eine gute Mischung, dazu passend überdreht aber doch noch charmant, dass es sehr unterhaltsam ist.

I hate curry. I do not think it is food. This subject came up the other day with a friend who likes (or loves?) curry. Thus, when I saw an article in my feed reader from SoraNews24 about a new Japanese curry product, I had no choice but to read so I could pass it along. To my surprise, I found my own take-away in the article beyond curry bad. The article began by quoting a Japanese song Yume no Naka e. I know Yume no Nake e, but not because “a famous song by Japanese singer Yosui Inoue.” Instead, I know it because it was used as the ending song for Kare Kano, an anime which aired in 1998-99 and which earned my praise in a New Leaf Journal article (When real people ‘tell, don’t show”) and leaflet (Calling For a New Kare Kano Anime). I referenced the song and animation when discussing my pick for the best opening/ending sequence in anime in 2024, Makeine’s Love2000.

I did a thing today.

My collection has a few #manga with dust jackets made of paper with no plastic coating.

Since they're 15-20+ years old, they got brittle and fragile. Some are torn and fizzled at the edges.

I thought about how libraries wrap them in adhesive foil to protect them.

Bought myself some of that and went to work on my old copies of #karekano

I'm pleased. Yes I kinda glued the jacket to the book...shocking! But they're falling appart 😭
