I guess everybody feels like just staying in jazz bed sometimes...

Well, Jazz Bed was actually a jazz coffee-shop in Tokyo, where Kaoru Abe and Hiroshi Yamazaki did this very powerful saxophone and drum duo for almost exactly 53 years ago (24. Jan. 1971, to be exact). I must say, I'm a big fan of the duo format; it really adds a bit of breathing space to the otherwise intense music.

#Opprobrium keyed me into a world of sound I knew very little about. #MasayukiTakayanagi and #KaoruAbe especially. The zines anti rock/free music ethos really spoke to me then and quite honestly still does. At the time I found endless classic rock worship to be a vomitous pastime and for the most part still do. I’d imagine issues exist on Archive but I’ve never looked. I remember the articles & reviews being super dense & informative though so I’d love to re-explore. https://www.furious.com/perfect/opprobrium.html
