@BryanRombough #GoodmanGames has been sketchy for a while, so this is less the nail in the coffin for me and more the death rattle of my forbearance. I've got a long shelf of #DCC books. Sailors on the Starless Sea is one of my favorite modules ever, along with Doom of the Savage King, and Blades Against Death.

But I won't give money to a craven company that wants to 'build bridges' to scumfucks like Bob Bledsaw of nu-#JudgesGuild. Cut the ropes, set it on fire, watch it fall into the gorge.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of #DnD, we decided to emulate the #1974 experience by playing with original three #ODnD books, no supplements. We played the #JudgesGuild adventure, the #Dragon Crown. Afterwards, I wrote a #review: https://www.dragonsfoot.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=2382545
JG76 The Dragon Crown - Dragonsfoot

Left: Eve Tempted by the Serpent by #WilliamBlake (c.1800), inspired by #Milton's #ParadiseLost (1667).

Right: #Sunnyside Mural from #JudgesGuild offices in Decatur, IL, USA. The original mural was 4 feet (1.2m) tall, but it no longer exists and there are no known photographs. The original #artist #BobBledsaw Jr. repainted it in 2016 for a #GoodmanGames #Kickstarter.

No idea whether Bob was inspired by Blake, but I couldn't help but notice the similarity in the portrayal and choice of colours.

I found this spectacular creature in a Judges Guild adventure. The Gorgriffspidrascorp!

Some adventures are so loved that they've been reprinted and improved on by several different game companies.

One of these adventures is Tegel Manor. Read all about it here (with alt text) :

Linda & Kevin Curtin on Instagram: "Some adventures are so loved that they've been reprinted and improved on by several different game companies. One of these adventures is Tegel Manor, the first "Haunted House" module. Originally created by Judges Guild in 1977, it was reprinted with additional content by GameScience in 1989. Goodman Games later printed it again with new content. Necromancer Games was planning on creating a D20 version, but it never materialized. The latest version comes to us from Frog God (formerly Necromancer) Games for 5th edition. Today we're going to take a peek at the original Judges Guild module, with the cover of the GameScience version thrown in for good measure. One of the things that makes this such a great adventure is the unusual NPCs. One of these is Sir Runic The Rump. Dim-witted owner of Tegel Manor, Sir Runic constantly attempts to sell the Manor, or lose it in a card game. Every owner demands their money back after they experience the place. Being nearly penniless, he has hopes for getting something out of his feared family home. The room descriptions are a hoot! F6 30' x 20'x20' H Doors shut (breaking spikes) and 'Hold Portal' - huge mirror depicts a flesh golem behind the party, torches extinguish, and deteriorated skeleton begins assembling itself. F7 20'x20'x20' H Faded red silk cloak and a purple shroud embroidered with gold animate to clothe party member and a gold crown 1265 GP appears on brow - reversing alignment. Short, simple, evocative. All of the maps are very nice, the color fold-out map shows the surrounding area. The map of the manor itself is very clear and even shows some of the trees outside. Most of the action happens in the manor, but of course, there's always a dungeon. The last image is of the actual Tegel Manor in Germany as it appeared in the 1800s. #dungeonsAndDragons #shopsmall #judgesguild #ttrpg #adventure #hauntedhouse"
