A fish curry on a Wednesday?? I’m turning into ruddy Rick Stein or something. For some reason I have Prince accompanying me for #JonsCookingMusic tonight…sometimes there is no reason. #NowPlaying
Still in the ‘D’ rack and another album I haven’t played for ages. Gave it a preemptive clean. I do now have a sudden urge to watch Apocalypse Now though.
Playing because I happened to see it whilst putting Dire Straits back in the rack and thought hell yeah! Haven’t played this for a while - seems like a good day for it.
Right, time to prep some veg. I may as well continue with another Straits album.
Talking of Who solo stuff, many years ago I created a CD album of all the bands best solo tracks with a photoshopped cover and everything. I called it ‘Who’s On Their Own?’ and put each member alone in an apartment block window, which is obviously because I am some sort of genius. I thought it was so cool at the time but it looks a bit crappy now 😂
Sounds great though!
I even included some Keith Moon solo stuff as bonus tracks - nobody should have to listen to Keith Moon solo tracks. Nobody.
It’s curry cooking time. The soundtrack to that is Who Came First, Pete Townshend 1972. A mixed bag, but worth the entrance fee for Sheraton Gibson and Parvardigar, and an understated but emotional rendition of Time Is Passing. Parvardigar is a great track I never get tired of.
My copy from ‘72 came with two identical inserts. Not sure why and not sure if that’s normal.
To my mind this is Townshend’s best solo other than Rough Mix.
