a friend of mine would like to join the fedi. he'd like to post drawing he does and prefers an "imageboard" UI, so i advised him to go to a pixelfed instance.

does anyone know a good pixelfed instance for him (or an instance of another software with a similar UI)?

I've started writing a list of people, business' and projects that I'd like to see on the Fediverse.

So far the list is like 60 entries long. Hopefully some of them join in the future :3

It would be really nice to write a whole 50+ page book just purely about the Fediverse. Maybe something like a 'Guide to the Fediverse' or something.

There are many things that aren't really said about the differences between Centralised and Decentralised social media / networking. There's also so much that goes into running an instance over just joining one already successful.

Not sure how you advertise Mastodon instances at this point. I guess the Fediverse is probably one of these things; You probably have to get people IRL to join or just find people already using it to migrate.
