He was one of the most important reformers of Australian agriculture. He certainly shook up and changed ag industry in Australia, for the better overall.
(I once had the privilege of being a keynote speaker at a national agriculture conference, sharing the platform with him.)

John Kerin steered Australian agriculture onto a world stage away from protectionist policies during the Hawke/Keating era. He is being remembered for his "indelible contribution" to agriculture and the environment.
