Just "released" the first usable version of #Convo, an #XMPP messaging app for #KaiOS and #JioPhone feature phones!

I was hoping to release a more complete version as 1.0, but that's taking a while, and people are already starting to use it as it is (especially with the impending shuttering of #WhatsApp on KaiOS) so I decided to get this out right away 📦

I've also submitted to the #BananaStore, so hopefully it should be out there soon 🍌

Where can I get a #KaiOS device (no mobile service) in the #USA that I could test, play around with and write a report about? By the way, is there a keyboard (similar to #JioPhone) and/or touch screen version?

I continue with my #obsession with #KaiOS. US mobile carriers like #ConsumerCellular that cater to older people seem to use feature phones only powered by #KaiOS. Does this mean that I have to wait another decade or so to buy one?

Why can't we have phones like #JioPhone in the US? These are great emergency mobiles for younger kids who don't spend hours on-line or playing #Android or #iOS games.
