I live in a world in which 5 a.m. moonlight shines down on an empty parking lot.

I live in a world in which rain falls on the bridge at noon. In which loneliness

is never lonely for company.

As clearly as possible I'd like to say:

my soul is as plain as a fallen leaf on a sidewalk--as useless, and as beautiful.
