March 3rd is ひな祭り (Hinamatsuri), a Japanese holiday known as Girls' Day, Doll's Day and the Peach Festival. Families display special dolls representing the Imperial Court and pray for the well-being of girl children.
My mom sent me photos of their Hinamatsuri display a few weeks back, so I actually managed to get my display up in time! Now I just need to remember to put the dolls away in a timely manner... Leaving them out for too long is considered bad luck.
