How I Paint: Jade Tigers
The Jade Tigers are my daughter’s mercenary unit for the campaign that we’re playing. Initially she was just using my Clan Jade Falcon Delta Galaxy miniatures, but I decided to paint up her units in a custom scheme. After chatting a bit about ideas, we settled on light grey units with green, tiger-striped accents.
For the Jade Tigers color scheme, I used the following process:
For the tiger stripes, or other small details in black, I like using Black Templar contrast paint because it flows nicely off the brush while having enough pigment to still end up as black stripes. Alternatively, a standard black paint will work but you’ll want to add a bit of water to dilute it enough so that it flows nicely off of a small brush.
So far I’ve only painted three of these, but I’ll be painting more when my daughter decides to buy additional units during our campaign.
