Sami Nenno from the Humboldt Institue for Internet and Society will now be presenting on "Guided by Fake Values". He has implemented a tool for monitoring misinformation and to identify claims that fact-checkers should have a look at. In Germany the fact-checkers (Correctiv, dpa, Faktenfuchs, Faktenfinder, etc.) only publish 100-200 articles a month. The tool is geared to help them identify the most urgent topics to address.

Julia Friske is now presenting on
“BERT-based Hate Speech Detection for Civic Engagement Platforms in German Language”
 which is a Connected Urban Twins project looking for application-oriented use of AI within the city context on existing data.
All three participating cities, have a digital partizipation system that includes citizen input. They need to identify hate speech, toxic or vulgar language, this is currently done by a moderator.
