Did not have "fistfight a great white shark" on my bingo card.
Which honestly is on me, at this point.

I cannot believe four games of Gondawara gags led to a substory finale that made me tear up.
This fuckin' studio man.
One of the great things about Ichiban as a protagonist is his emotional expression.
Kiryu is this super stoic guy. He's got a soft side and he has empathy but aside from getting angry he's often not very expressive.
Even though Ichiban is embarrassed about it because he's *supposed* to be a tough guy, he's really emotionally expressive and genuine in a lot of scenes. He feels like a good role model for positive masculinity in the 2020s.
Aaand a bunch of the reminiscing scenes are going to make me cry.
The idea of your player character writing a bucket list and improving stats as you cross off items is so interesting. Why don't more games have middle aged protagonists?
I like the inclusion of the dynamic intros and the QTE segments in big boss fights in this game.
They're a little visually inconsistent with the turn based gameplay, but RGG knows how to animate a good fistfight and it brings back some of the dramatic flair from the action games.
Okay 24 hours in and I've hit Dondoko island.
I suspect I am never escaping Hawaii.
I'll never get tired of starting a fight near a railing because throwing people over for an instakill is just too fun.
Even better in Infinite Wealth because it doesn't even cost heat.
