One of the shows I watched in entirety between episodes of #TheStrain was the Korean horror drama, If Apps Could Kill.
I thought it was going to be a simple slasher type offering--not that I have any aversion to those if they're well done--but it was much deeper than that.
Central to the plot was Korean shamanism. There was an episode that covered an escape from a spirit world, and it was fairly accurate to what I know of shamanic vision travel. Really well done and compelling. I then had to go down a rabbit hole online about Korean shamanism which was really educational. And I'm glad to see that it's popular to this day. I'd much prefer the world was full of shamans than Xtian pastors.
The show was well done, scary in the right ways, and far, far better than I thought it would be.
