The words were hard to come by, but once they came, it was hard to stop. Andrew Nash did so much to advance #identity and #security, and (together with Pam) even more to help foster a real sense of belonging in everyone, old-timers and newcomers alike. He was an inspiration and mentor to many of us, in so many ways. And he was one of my dearest friends. Writing this remembrance is one way for me to grapple with this profound loss.

So much universe, and so little time – Talking Identity

As I get ready to leave Berlin, I reflect on the wonderful insights I gathered from conversations in the hallways and at dinner, and from on stage talks and panels at #EIC2024. What jumps to the top of my mind is this incredibly deep and meaningful statement Francesca Morpurgo said at the start of our panel on Wednesday reminding us of our responsibility:
"When you are assigning identity, you are exercising power, and you are defining their possibilities."

I leave #EIC hopeful that this incredible, passionate, and hardworking community I call family can tackle the hard task ahead of us.

Thank you to the entire KuppingerCole team for putting on another great conference. Happy for all the new connections I made, and looking forward to collaborating with you in making #DigitalIdentity a power for good. Thanks to the great partners on the panel, and as always, much love to my #Identirati family that was here for making this a special week.

I leave all of you with a line from my talk this week: Digital Identity can be a wonderful tool for inclusion, but it can also be a ruthless weapon for exclusion.
