Question for web developers out there. Why, on most commercial sites, do you 1) load the page, 2) present a search bar, 3) load a bunch of additional shit, and then 4) ignore what I typed into the search bar and make me start over.

I really miss the days of web pages just loading instead of having to add a bunch of crap after the fact.

I'm specifically referring to home depot and lowes at this particular time but they are far from the only (or worst) offenders.
