A fantastic day of talks at #MQSummit (including my own 😉) now watching the closing key Note by David Ware of #ibmmq on "The power of queues".

In a weeks time i will be presenting at #MQSummit in Berlin on Messaging Security! If you're interested in a solid day of talks on Messaging products such as #ibmmq , #RabbitMQ , #AmazonSQS and #Kafka as well as oppurtunities to meet experts in the messaging space there are still tickets available at https://mqsummit.com/

Looking forward to seeing you there!

I've received a number of questions about how the upcoming public CA change to remove support for the clientAuth Extended Key Usage value affects #ibmmq .

I've written a blogpost that aims to explain what IBM MQ expects and which users are likely to be affected.

If you use a public CA like DigiCert or Let's Encrypt as your PKI for IBM MQ then check out my post here: https://community.ibm.com/community/user/blogs/robert-parker1/2025/09/23/ibm-mq-and-extended-key-usage

Preparing for Quantum safe computing should be high on your priorities. Ensuring that you are using suitable encryption algorithms and are ready to adopt new cryptographic standards will enable you to quickly move to quantum safe algorithms and therefore protect your data and your customers data.

In this blog post i talk about what actions within #ibmmq you can take now to prepare for Quantum Safe cryptography: https://community.ibm.com/community/user/integration/blogs/robert-parker1/2024/10/14/quantum-safe-ibm-mq-actions-you-can-take-now

Quantum Safe IBM MQ. Actions you can take now.

#IBMMQ and IBM #watsonx are a match made in heaven. Watsonx loves data and IBM MQ transfers your valuable data.

I've written a blog post that shows how you can utilize streaming queues to tap into that data enabling you to process it with Watsonx. This can give you greater insights into the data while it flows through your MQ network.

Server Name Indication in #IBMMQ is a topic that seems to have confused a few people. While traditionally used for web traffic routing, #IBMMQ uses it slightly differently. This is configurable and choosing which mode to use in which situation seems to be where the confusion starts.

I've posted a blog post that talks about what SNI is, how IBM MQ uses it and what your options are to try and help you decide which option to use. Read it here: https://community.ibm.com/community/user/integration/blogs/robert-parker1/2024/08/27/ibm-mq-server-name-indication-and-routing

I've had a number of conversations recently where users of #ibmmq weren't aware that their IBM MQ queue managers and applications could support PKCS#12 keystores for storing their TLS certificates.

I've published a blog post that talks about this feature and how you can take advantage of it. Read about it here: https://community.ibm.com/community/user/integration/blogs/robert-parker1/2024/08/13/did-you-know-ibm-mq-supports-pkcs12-keystores

Did you know IBM MQ supports PKCS#12 keystores?
