@IAFFE This was a great session. #PostKeynesian economics links up with #CareEconomy and a rich comparative #macroeconomics of the global South. Thanks again to all the organizers of #iaffe2023.
@IAFFE
A vibrant event to end this conference. Special thanks for the staff work and technical support that has made this conference possible. Hybrid conferences are really good ideas, but it takes a lot of support to make them happen. The student workers and tech professionals have done a great job. #IAFFE #IAFFE2023
Chair of this session is Abena D. Oduro of the University of Ghana, who is now introducing the speakers. #IAFFE2023
Next up at #IAFFE2023 is the Local Plenary: Empowering women in economics: Exploring opportunities and overcoming constraints in an African context. These are always some of the most exciting events at the @IAFFE annual conferences, as they bring together a panel of local experts from government, activists and NGOS, and academics.
Thanks, Colin @cdanby
for your boosting support of @IAFFE and #IAFFE2023 ! Two more days of the conference!
The elders who have identified as feminist economists are asked for goals and strategies for feminist economists in the years to come. #IAFFE2023 #MembershipMeeting
Now a shout out to all the Latin American scholars in the house in Cape Town for #IAFFE2023 and now Dr. Caroline Shenaz Hossain for the MembershipCommittee salutes first time attendees and activists and practitioners in attendance. There is a thanks and remembrance of elders who built the organization and made space for women across Africa and the world and a salute to the IAFFE family. When did you recognize and feel that you were a feminist economist?
Now the LONG list of dozens of feminist economics books that have been published in the last year is recognized and their authors saluted. #IAFFE2023 This and the previous lists back to 2018 are listed here https://www.iaffe.org/pages/resources/book-celebrations/
Professor Joanna Roster is a literary and cultural scholar who encountered feminist economics as a new way to see the world and is grateful for the interdisciplinary nature of the community. She thanks feminist economists Edith Kuiper and Kirsten Madden for their early support and encouragement of her work. She also thanks her husband. "Thought travels across history..." and she talks about one of the women whose writings her book studied and their wonder at today's meeting. #IAFFE2023
