Finally experienced #hypnogogia. Weird, mundane, and disturbing if I seriously entertained it.

I took a nap, and ended up in that state where you’re awake, but your eyes are still closed and you don’t want to wake up. I’m alone mind you, and I heard someone in my bathroom. They peed in the toilet, and then brushed their teeth.

I just laid quietly and “pretended” to sleep. I didn’t feel scared, although perhaps I should have. I think it’s the banality of the event that caused me not be scared. If they opened a door, or I heard footsteps, that might have been terrifying.

A health problem in my late 20s convinced me to give up alcohol, junk food, and pesticides as often as I could. About seven years later, I found myself going on a trip that was completely unreal.*

It made wonder: Did my mind completely renew itself? After seven years did all of the cells regenerate, giving it a kind of tune up that I never dreamed I’d experience?

It’s been a wild ride ever since.
