Under Fire (2025)
Under Fire is a brisk 90-minute action comedy buddy movie. The story is basic enough and by the time the movie ended, I was left with many questions as the script asks a few questions that never get answered. It feels like there was more to the movie that may have been cut out to have a shorter runtime.
Under Fire follows two men, Griff (Dylan Sprouse) and Abbott (Mason Gooding) who get caught under gunfire after they take a job with a druglord to deliver some money and pick up some cocaine. They end up stranded in a gulch being watched by a sniper and must figure out how they can escape.
The onscreen chemistry between Dylan Sprouse and Mason Gooding is fantastic. The two carry the film and make an otherwise mediocre movie entertaining. Mason Gooding is much better in this movie than his previous disaster Aftermath: https://ultramookie.com/movies/aftermath/
The movie mostly moves at a brisk pace with a little sag in the later half of the movie.
The guns in the movie act in bizarre ways.
If you're even slightly into action comedy movies, this one is worth a watch. Do yourself a favor though, don't watch the trailer for the movie. It spoils a big part of the movie -- I was disappointed that they put that into the trailer.
Rated 6 out of 10.
Streamed on Hulu.
