A more intimate real community online would allow me to post to anyone at all that I was about to go on a road trip, from Kalamazoo, Michigan to Battle Creek, Michigan, just to go to #Horrocks!

we don’t have that, obviously. But it would be nice.

Every couple of weeks we come to #BattleCreek and visit #Horrocks. This market has a beer garden section with rustic seating. Enjoying a Peanut Butter Stout. It’s exactly as you’d imagine. So good. :) #today
#S_T_Gill project: Yesterday’s new content is part of wrapping up the project this year. (Though I suspect it will never be final, as extra evidence comes to light.) The Horrocks Pass find was a case of connecting missing links in research already done a few years back. The #Horrocks journal was a spur of the moment decision to make that public domain content available online.

Other updates today for #S_T_Gill project include new #Horrocks pages:

Found my pound of Emmental cheese at #Horrocks. They stock it, they had it, they just didn’t have anyone on staff who knew their stock or cheese case. So, I did find it in the end. All set. Now groceries are done. Twenty miles back West to #Kalamazoo. LOL. #SoFirstWorld #today

After completing the commission for James Allen and the South Australian Company, in Novermber 1845 #S_T_Gill briefly trialled #Daguerreotype (photography). Little is known about what he did next, up until the time he left on #Horrocks' expedition in July 1846.This article feels somewhat disjointed but fills an important role as a narrative bridge. Is this Gill's earliest portrayal of a drunk character - at the 1846 #Adelaide show?
