Siding was delivered this morning.

I just finished cutting back the overgrowth along the kitchen wall so the team can reach it tomorrow. Pulled down the Virginia creepers adhered to the wall and windows. Yanked out the grapevines. Trimmed back the Korean spice bush and the lilacs.

Came in, got dinner into the slow cooker.

Not going out to clean up my mess till later, when the sun isn't so high. I burn easily. Luckily I was in the shade while trimming.

Anyway . . . Tomorrow evening it will look like a new addition, rather than a neglected cabin (which, tbh, it is). Hasn't been painted since 1997 . . .

The contractors are here. The demolition of our kitchen is underway. They got here a few minutes before 8:00am, spent a few minutes going over the details, and here we are at 9:19am and most of the kitchen is already gone.

On top of that, half of the cabinet boxes are already put together. They are blowing through this at world record speed. It’s amazing. Maybe they will be finished by tomorrow night like they predicted.

Maybe they know what they are doing and I should stop worrying about it and just let them do their very impressive thing.
