#HelpfulTip for other #streamers who often have few people in chat:
Set up your bot to play a subtle sound whenever a new chat message arrives.
But don't have it captured on stream, e.g. by directing game audio to a muted speaker and only recording that, while monitoring it to your headset so you can still hear it, then playing the sound explicitly on your headset.
This means that if you sink into the game and forget to check chat, you get an audible reminder to do so when it's important.
The most useful thing I have found over here is that some people have created bot accounts who forward posts mentioning them to everyone who follows them. The ones I have seen all end in "@a.gup.pe" and I have seen the start as "@knitting", "@bookstoden", "@fiberarts", "@handspinning" and I am sure there are many, many more.
You follow them and then they boost into your timeline anything that mentions them. It is so good!
