I'm astonished that I don't remember any of this from my 1st reading, but, especially when the Hellsparks show up towards the end, this is scratching ALL the old NLP* itches.
* I mean NLP in the [the study of the structure of subjective experience] sense, not the [strange manipulative magic to influence people & sell them shit they don't want or need] sense.
My brain has its own ideas about casting.
Om im Chadeayne is very clearly played by David Draiman. Little. & blue. With gold eyebrows. But definitely Draiman.
Dunno if it's age, or the complexity of the story, but I've had to go back and reread the first 90 pages, & start a dramatis personae to keep track of all the players.
Does anyone know if Gretchen McCulloch is aware of this book? I suspect there would be much interest there....

A LOT more There there than I even remembered. I just got to the Language 101 lesson and 👀 !
Katrani Merackspeaking of, i'm almost through I, Robot. it's weird, but Asimov is like. the only #scifi classic writer i've got interest in? or at least the only one that everyone knows. gonna see if i can find other books or short stories by Kagan cause #Hellspark was hella.
