Cooling Fan has started to scream! 🌞🥵

(think I may still have a picture of it in happier times)

Lost track of whuch number heatwave we're on for this year. Currently 27C outside. Keeping the doors shut means inside is only 23C. Meant to be in the 30s tomorrow so we'll shut windows and curtains to keep the house bearable. At the moment it's actually quite pleasant sitting out on the patio after lunch, but planning this week to keep siesta hours and avoid working in the middle of the day. Plants I bought yesterday at the garden centre will get plenty of water later - the new huge water butt only takes 6 seconds to fill the watering can, which makes the evening watering take a lot less time.

Fuck me, the heat is murderous today.

We had a brief thundershower move through, but it has not cleared the air. It has made it worse. It is so hot the rain is turning to steam on the roads and pavement.

It is like living in a sauna.

Outrageous #scorchio record temperatures here in West London, UK at the moment. I’m measuring a temperature 41°C outdoors in the shade, using my trusted calibrated Platinum Resistance Thermometer (PRT).

I hate having to get up at 4.00 am. on a Sunday morning.
