#MorningThoughts: If healing is a sign of civilization, as anthropologist Margaret Mead said, what is taking away healthcare a sign of? #HealthcareNotWarfare
Humanity: “We conquered the moon.”
Also, humanity: “Best I can do is a $16K bill and a shrug.”
Amazing how we can land spacecraft with precision… but your insurance claim gets “lost” down the hall.
Progress, just very selective.
If healthcare were treated like defense spending…you’d walk into a hospital, and they’d say:
“Don’t worry. It’s covered.”
Wild concept.
We’ll spare no expense to prepare for threats.
Unless the threat is…getting sick.
Then it’s “good luck.”
We can track targets across continents…but somehow can’t track a patient through a billing system.
Incredible technology. Selective priorities.
