2nd batch much easier as I got 1 long pan under the oven broiler for all 16 peppers to roast. This time roasted less time, less burned. Perfected flash freeze:
saved aluminum pie pans and squares of parchment paper. I laid out 6 or so pepper slabs on parchment and can get 2 rows then use next pan and repeat with papers to prevent sticking/freezing together. Stack 4 pans for 10 layers. 2 hrs freezer. Peel slabs to put in ziplock bags to freezer store.

If you know , you know. Final photo of my finished cooking adventure with the Hatch green chilis. I sautΓ©ed the leftovers veggie kabobs on the side. Since the roasted chilies are extra hot I only put a tablespoon or so on top of the scrambled eggs. We were all quite happy. My tongue is burning! π

Ta-Da! Roasted Hatch chili peppers done. Checkmark another culinary adventure thanks to @elaterite with tips from several other folks on the post yesterday. I wasnβt prepayfor how quick roasting in my oven broiler would be - 5 minutes. Or that I would hear pops as some split. Help, someone mutual with me and likely with many mutuals in common described grilling green chilis and peeling afterwards. Then freeze whole in bags to use 1 at a time. Who???? Canβt find the reply post with details. Iβm going to try roasting these tomorrow on the grill. The Hatch green chiliβs are legendary. 2 stores got shipments Friday and both neatly sold out of many pallets full of these bagged. Only βhotβ was left so I thought Iβd give it a try anyway. #Chilis #HatchChilis
