A mountain pool refuge for bubbles in a hasty stream.

For those with a keen eye for detail, the water is a reddish brown colour caused by the Fynbos flora through which it flows

This is a Sundew.
A carnivorous plant that relies on insects to provide nitrogen.
They are tiny, no larger than a big thumb nail and produce tiny flowers in season.
Endemic to the Fynbos Biome

Such a beautiful flower but it is
called a Common Scaly Sewejaartjie (seven year) which seems a bit unfair.
It is one of the Fynbos endemic everlastings.we found them high up on the Disa Trail in the Harold Porter Reserve in Betty's Bay - about 100km from Cape Town.
The whole hillside was spotted with them.
