Halloween – Die Nacht des Grauens | Video | Haddonfield, Illinois, 1963, am Morgen nach Halloween. Nachdem er seine große Schwester Judith (Sandy Johnson) grausam mit einem Küchenmesser ermordet hat, wird der gerade einmal sechsjährige Michael Myers in Sicherheitsverwahrung ins Smith's Grove Warren County Sanatorium gebracht. Psychiater Dr. Sam Loomis (Donald Pleasence) behandelt das Kind, schafft es aber 15 Jahre lang nicht, zu ihm durchzudringen. Daraufhin versucht er, eine lebenslange Einweisung zu erwirken. Doch auf dem Weg zum Gericht entkommt Michael (Nick Castle). Sam Loomis vermutet dessen Rückkehr an den Tatort, fährt sofort nach Haddonfield und warnt Sheriff Leigh Brackett (Charles Cyphers). Die drei jungen Babysitterinnen Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis), Annie (Nancy Loomis) und Lynda (P.J. Soles) ahnen nicht, was ihnen in der Halloweennacht bevorstehen wird. Der Genre-Klassiker 'Halloween' wurde zu einem der einflussreichsten Filme im Horror-Genre und führte mit zur Popularität von Slasher-Filmen in den 1980er Jahren. Für Jamie Lee Curtis, die 2023 den Oscar als Beste Nebendarstellerin in 'Everyting Everywhere All at Once' gewonnen hat, war es - als 19-Jährige - einer der ersten Hauptrollen. Die markante Filmmusik stammt von Kultregisseur John Carpenter selbst.
