So I took the #HolyStone #HS720R up. I planned to keep it simple. Light flying, hover, systems check, etc.

Boy is this #drone dangerous.

I wish that was a commentary as competition against the expensive ones, but no. It's literally dangerous. I sent my dogs back inside to protect them from further testing.

This is a MSRP $400 drone. I only spent $270. It's not even worth that.

If this is their top of the line, avoid this brand _entirely_.

Took a bit of effort but I managed to get things charging. Apparently neither the USB-C chargeable battery nor controller will trigger on a PD charger with a full USB-C cable. So they're not fully USB-C compliant.

This is the kind of thing that will cause confusion with users… And bad reviews.

#HolyStone #drone #HS720R

Got a #HolyStone #drone. Their top one, #HS720R. Went cheaper to kinda ease back into the hobby.

It's definitely no #DJI #Mavic. Not even a Gen 1 situation.

But it might still scratch the itch fine.

The first task I have for it is inspection of my roof and chimney.

Later, I might push its capabilities a bit more.
