@BrambleBearWhuffling So, this article does NOT recommend using store bought garlic to grow (though I've done it with organic garlic). The store-bought organic garlic did okay, but the bulbs were somewhat small. I do use the top greens in cooking, which are similar to onion tops, but with a hint of garlic. Imho, onions are easier to grow -- even a small bulb (or the onion top) are both very useful in the kitchen.
We tried to plant garlic today. But our raised beds are frozen. Oops! Glad weβll be warmer this week. Maybe we will plant on Thanksgiving! π
This was our first year growing our own. Such an easy fuss free crop. We planted three varieties. Music garlic (a hardneck variety) from #BakerCreek far outperformed the others.
