Thank you for your hard work! Our team cleaned around a bridge over the Winooski and we only found a plastic bag in the form of a pack-up that hadn't been packed-out. The ban has definitely decreased the amount of plastic I've found on #GreenUpDay and other trash clearing activities. As depressing as it can be to still find these forms of litter, at least we know that we will find less over time and clearing it now means it won't be there later!

Despite a #Vermont statewide ban on #plastic #bags and single-use #styrofoam, I still picked up both. The bag was of course wrapped around some branches in the #stream, while the very fresh looking styrofoam may have come from a cooler and was busy creating secondary #microplastics along the edge of the parking lot. #GreenUpDay #litter #PlasticPollution #TrashyStreams
Our family participated in our first #GreenUpDay, a #Vermont tradition. We picked up #litter in our neighborhood park and stream, both of which were already very clean. Our haul was mostly #plastic, with the most common items being cigarette #butts and #wrappers. Our biggest retrieval was this #bike frame, but I had to leave behind several large items partially buried in rocks and sediment in the streambed and a #tire with a tree growing through it. #GreenUp #PlasticPollution #TrashyStreams

Beautiful day to go outside and pick up other people's trash from the roadside. Sure wish there wasn't a need.

#Vermont folks: I'll be slinging Full Barrel Co-op pints and growler fills at the #GreenUpDay after-party from 12-3pm tomorrow (Saturday) at the Old Spokes Home bike shop in #BTV. Stop by and say hi! :)
