(Update: I am told that Gopuff has run out of the money they dedicated to this deal. Presumably it'll be available again on the 16th.)
The delivery platform Gopuff is offering $50 in credit to EBT card holders over the month of November. Nov 1-15, the eligible code is SNAPRELIEF1 and will give you $25 in credit and free delivery. The corresponding code for Nov 16-30 is SNAPRELIEF2.
Here is what I learned when I looked into this platform (I got to the point of checkout) and why I decided not to go for it.
1. In my area, GoPuff's prices are about 2x the prices at Winco for similar items of similar size (Winco is a large employee-owned grocery store that is the cheapest in my area)
2. GoPuff's selection of items is very small compared to Winco or Walmart
3. This deal at GoPuff requires the customer to pay, with non-EBT money, both fees (for me, $2.10 for the $25 worth of items I chose) and a tip for the driver (so probably $5+ total)
In my opinion, this could be a helpful offer if someone doesn't have the ability to physically go to a cheaper store (or that's difficult for them) and/or they don't have any EBT left on their card (or regularly run out of EBT and have to use non-EBT money for groceries). I did not find it worthwhile in my case.
I hope this can help someone decide whether to spend time and energy looking into this offer. Please feel free to boost.
