It’s done!

What a productive Sunday this has been so far: Today I finished importing older clips from Mastodon and Instagram to my new MakerTube site. And I must say, I love it! Everything runs smoothly, handling is easy and I am not missing any options.

I've enjoyed #YouTube content for years, but the platform not so much. The number and frequency of ads has increased so much that the site has become a source of frustration rather than pleasure. Leaving YouTube has become a goal, like leaving Twitter once was. Thankfully there are many YouTube alternatives, including Fedi ones. #GoodbyeYouTube

Well that's interesting. While I knew about the acquisition of course, I didn't realize that the YouTube app had been integrated into the Android OS. Anyway, we'll disable it and see how that goes. Farewell YT. Hello again, bookshelf.
