Welche Erfahrungen zeigen sich in der #Moderation oder beim #Rechtemanagement in der Praxis? Wie viel Speicher bekommen die User? Wie umgehen mit: Datenschutz, Jugendschutz, Persönlichkeitsrechten, politischem Content, Werbung, ...?

Nevertheless, I think there is a bright future for PeerTube. MakerTube has survived for the last 2.5 years, and I think we built a great community around it, and there are many more years to come! And then there is the problem with the operational costs. Hosting videos and increasing traffic are expensive. Costs for operations doubled in the last year. This is working out at the moment, but there is not the room to make any investments. We are soon hitting plan limits at Hetzner, and this will increase costs further. I need to decide if I run my own storage cluster (a lot of work) vs. using the managed services even more (more money). 3/4

Despite the growth, we don't see a lot of adoption on the user side; view counts are more or less the same. I think this is the main reason for video creators being stuck on YouTube. It's not about monetization in my opinion but the missing user base. We need to find strategies for this problem in the coming years to be a real alternative. 2/4

This is a bit of a review of 2025 and an outlook to 2026 regarding #MakerTube. The platform matured a lot in the last year. We had a lot of growth, but also technical stability improved a lot. This is primarily thanks to the moderators while I could focus on operations. Thanks a lot for your work and support! Also, Framasoft is doing a great job to improve #PeerTube and incorporates our feedback. 1/4
