It is really very sweet that Cui Xingzhou is secretly procuring expensive geese to sell to Miantang’s family at a reduced price, just because he thinks she would like to eat it 🌸 However, she blows his cover, putting the poor servant on the spot. The scene is extremely funny, since the intention is romantic but holding a goose seems faintly ridiculous.
There is an equally romantic gesture with a goose in the “Golden Terrace” books ❤️
Just finished the first volume of "Golden Terrace" by Cang Wu Bin Bai 🌸 The arranged marriage between the main couple allows for love to develop in a very organic way.
4/5: An arranged marriage between men in imperial China is the trope that opens the first volume of “Golden Terrace”. On the surface this is an enemies-to-lovers story where two adversarial characters are yoked together in a marriage at the behest of an unreasonable Emperor. However, beneath the surface Cang Wu Bin Bai weaves a tale of two young men who despite their relative youth have a long and complex history with each other. Masha and Mirah are the best reading companions 😺 Since it is the weekend we have had a nice, quiet afternoon reading a book.
Masha and I are doing some quiet reading before the day begins 😺📚 Just finished chapter 6. Even though this is still in the exposition phase, the court intrigue is unfolding in a quietly amusing and gossipy way.
The power struggle is real + characters have petty motivations. The main couple has met briefly + are not enamoured at all but there has been an incident of caring and trust that was born out of the situation rather than knowledge of each other.
Just beginning to reading a new danmei series, “Golden Terrace” 🌸 which was recommended to me by @geraineon. After a quick break reading some Japanese manga, I’m ready for the more complex world of these novels. Masha, the tiny black kitty, is ready for sofa time 😺📚
Finished #GoldenTerrace's main story, I just have the extras left. This is an artificial division, but overall, I liked the first volume than the second. It was still enjoyable, just... not as interesting to me. I thought the political intrigue aspect was much better in the first half, and I also enjoyed the first more because the relationship developed and changed. In the second volume, the relationship is set and they're actually often apart.
Still, good read!
