Glad to first see this post on Mastodon. I appreciate the framing of ethical AI as a strategy for a more beautiful, just, and verdant world.

I think what you aspire to is timeless. It’s not necessarily a generational clog that’s messed things up; people fought against #industrialism in the 1930s and #mccarthyism in the 1950s. I remember when Gen-Xers were gonna stick it to boomers. And now there’s #GoAOC with old head #bernie.

In any case, I can see ethical #AI being part of a much larger portfolio for the public good.

Do you think we can’t achieve thriving unless we have [ethical] AI?

Must we have some form of AI to ensure stable access to clean air, food, and water, housing, healthcare, transportation, arts, community, time for faith, and climate stability? What could AI tell us that we don’t already know about indigenous ecology, regenerative agriculture, green building, GHG emissions, effective working conditions, or a circular economy?
