Making gifts in bulk for friends and family: aye or nay?

For me, nay. When I see something (no matter the time of year) that's the right gift for someone, I pick it up and set it aside. For years, I was the child that my mother "couldn't buy for" and she just dropped a check in the mail. Choosing individual gifts (or making them) for people is really important to me.
