Calvin in OregonThe barnacle covered stumps of the #Neskowin #GhostForest are the remnants of an ancient sitka spruce forest on the #OregonCoast. Scientists believe that the forest was ultimately destroyed as a result of an earthquake or tsunami, and the remains eventually buried deep approximately 2000 years ago. Back in the winter of 1997-98, a series of storms pulled enough sand and soil out to sea to expose the stumps. Most of them can only be seen at low tide.
