donut records on Instagram: "Leicester alternative 3 piece @9oclocknasty just released their new belter ‘Savage mechanic’ and heres my two penn'orth. The organ and bass have me hooked and struttin’ down the street shoulder barging bullshit-artists to the curb as soon as it kicks off. The keys belong in a low budget video nasty (in the best way possible) There’s something inherently British about a key-line and a bass with this much swagger, I can imagine Nasty on the beaches looking at the peaches along with the stranglers cackling over a warm can of tennents and a dumper rollie. Its got humour but that’s not to say the band is to be taken lightly, It must be hard to make something this infectious and fun with a heavy dollop of wry wit and cynicism. The vocals are odd and stand out like a blind cobblers thumb, and in a world of cookie cutter punks this is no bad thing in my book. If I was to draw other comparisons, the track shares sensibilities with the likes of Sleaford mods or an ‘MC Pitman’ fronted post-punk outfit. Either way it all makes for a great listen and I can say 'I WAS THERE’ when 9 0’clock Nasties dropped this gem in 2023! #newsingle #Leicestermusicscene #independentmusic #9oclocknasty"
