My relax for the evening, watching youtube, and working on this section of the family tree.

Things usually stop when:
A. I hit Europe (as I haven't subscribed to those records)
B. Things from the 1780s-1860s (records from just after 1776 to into the 1600s aren't actually to bad, and after 1860s, save for the time around 1890-1900, are pretty good just because of census records).

Interesting. Figured out I am distantly related to the playwright Kermit Hunter. 5th cousin 2x removed (paternal side)

Never thought I would ever be able to track back this far. 1500's England to 1600's settlers in Jamestown, Virginia. #genelogy
This blank space.... #genelogy

You know it's time to give up looking for a marriage record when you find an 1878 affidavit stating there was no church or Public record, no family record, and that the surviving widow can't get an affidavit from the minister.

Let's try and start 'a thing'. How about sharing a Biography of an ancestor? Most of us seem to have blogs, or other areas on the web where we put our research.

It would be great to share interesting blogs (or a write up here). I am always interested in other people and their own stories. I am sure you are too.

What about #Geniog ? .... as in Genealogy Biography

@kansaswriter

Absolutely. This instance is open to anyone, but if you have interest in #Genelogy that makes it far more interesting for you and others. Not all our chat has to be about Genealogy. I talked about a smoothie this morning!!

If every post you make was advertising your service, that might become tiresome and breaches our rules. But if you can contribute and help others that's great.

Does that help?

thanks @PattyHankins for pointing me at this question, which I missed
