2 Wochen mit Auto und #Zelt einmal rund ums Monte Rosa Massiv.
#Wanderung vom #Gemmipass runter nach #Leukerbad. Der Gemmipass ist ein alter Säumerweg vom #Wallis ins Berner Oberland. Sehr gut ausgebaut und spektakulär durch die Felswand.
Although the weather was not as beautiful anymore as the past weeks, the mountains were still calling.
Conveniently by public transport we went to Sunnbüel (Kandersteg, Canton Bern) and hiked to the Gemmipass (Canton Valais). This is an ancient trading route (first mention is from the 13th century), as it is the easiest route between the Bernese Oberland and the direction Italy.
The day started with still nice weather, but the clouds and especially winds picked up half-way. We could have hiked the other direction (wind from behind), but the reward of the panorama of the high mountains of Valais at the end, is a much better finish. Even the Matterhorn showed off a bit.
