@ddipaola I don't have a #G601 as reference, so I'm guessing into the blue. How many walls did you use for the print?
I'd consider PETG better suited for its impact resistance than the rather brittle PLA.

The LunchBox a a quite wobbly front bathtub as you know. Give I've replace the front “dampers” with dampers, I was able to mount a dome-cross-brace which significantly helps to strengthen that part by distributing impact forces. (3mm threaded rod and balljoints.)
Might that help here as well?

To firm up the steering, I replaced the stock servo saver with a 3Racing SHAMU v2 which has metal springs instead of a plastic ones. A nice upgrade for only 6USD.

Next, I think I'll print up a stronger servo mount to get rid of that slop source.

I did some #3DPrinting and made a few upgrades for my #G601 .

The first is a pair of upper shock mounts (like I did for my #TL01 except using PETG). Since the shocks were originally mounted directly to the (quite large) chassis, it could cause the chassis to crack if a significant bump happened. These parts also help hold the chassis halves together to prevent dust from getting into the gears.

The second upgrade was a set of wheels (aka "rims"), also in PETG. The originals are chrome plated and known to be brittle. I even ended up cracking one just by taking off a tire! Since there are 6 of them, buying the official parts would total of ~30USD. This set (while not as durable) was ~9USD to print and can be made in any color.

Santa gave me a used but very nice #Tamiya Kong Head!

There's a transparent version of the #Tamiya #G601 chassis and colorful replacement gears so you can see the insides working like some '90s #KNEX electric motor thing. 😮

I need this so much.
