"Oh yeah, well we're going to bomb the shit out of a completely different group of people who aren't responsible in any way for anything YOU'VE ever done! Take that! Whatchagonna do in response? Huh? Huh?"

It's absolutely amazing to me that politicians and other partisans are so successful at getting people to take sides for either of these groups, and that people are so stupid as to think "Oh you don't support group A? That means you love group B" is a legitimate argument to either make or receive.

(Especially abhorrent when the people making it claiming one or other is acting in "Self Defense" more often than not support Russia against Ukraine, given the latter is a rare example of a group C that's literally only killing people who are pointing guns at it, not uninvolved Russian civilians.)
