The pattern was a suggestion by @Atalante and it works incredibly well. Helps that I have the perfectly matching top thread for the border, which you obviously can't see right now. 😅

First try on free motion sewing. Stitches have uneven length as the only determination of that is how fast I move the fabric in conjunction to how fast the needle goes up and down.
The tricky part will be finding a pace that works and makes it even, the moving of fabric was rather easy, at least on this small scale.

First time #FreeMotionQuilting after hours of watching videos.

My notes so far:
- think slooow. Chill. Listen to the machine.
- I need to not skim tight corners on the travel.
- pay attention to not cross borders.
- got a bit of a crooked line going on.
- the patterned fabric feels really nice.

Took a little effort, but finally unboxed my new sewing machine and got it upstairs. Waiting for my Gidget 2 insert and I can get it all set up. Excited to check it out. Planning on starting an Angela Walters FMQ lesson.

This one has been calling to me to finish next. Only I have no idea how to quilt it. Suggestions? Please realize I am a beginner free motion quilter so nothing too fancy (I can't do feathers AT ALL).
