As aureate and rosy dawn
is etching streaks across the sombre sapphire,
spilling shadows and light over snow-hugged expanses,
crows respectfully wait to cacophonate their praise—
or is theirs a threnody to the dying night?

Evening lust fest...
Moanful groans..
Raging pheromones..
Sweaty bodies intertwined..
Raging heat..
Friction based
with the intensity of a furnace blast..
Lovers vow
in cuddled darkness..
Together bound are they
for all eternity..
Til the morning after
reality dawns
that forever never lasts
Nelson At the Holiday Party
When Nelson heard her name mentioned at the party, he came over trepid and queasy: they had "history", though not of that sort. He wanted to slip out before her grand entrance.
Too late; in that moment she wafted over the parquet wearing a gossamer gown calculated to draw all eyes. Melissa. As if by instinct, her cold stare homed on Nelson. And then a comedy of errors ensued: her chiffon snagged on a holly wreath, and in extricating herself, she stepped a stiletto heel on a power cord, de-twinkling the tree lights as she butt-flopped onto a pile of presents.
Her spell was broken. Amid the aghast looks and irrepressible titters, Nelson strode over and offered both hands to help her back to her feet. The party awkwardly resumed; she muttered a begrudging thank you, Nelson bowed slightly in acknowledgement, and as she turned to survey the wreckage, he sought his hosts to proffer an excuse for his early departure. When granted such a boon, he reasoned, best not to test the Fates.

Nelson At the Holiday Party
Between us two,
he's not as bright as people claim.
Between us two,
he's pretty, but he'd prove untrue.
We share a mutual redame,
my dear; how shameful if he came
between us two.
