Charles Baudelaire's Fleurs du Mal

Fleursdumal.org is dedicated to the French poet Charles Baudelaire (1821 - 1867), and in particular to Les Fleurs du mal (Flowers of Evil). The definitive online edition of this masterwork of French literature, Fleursdumal.org contains every poem of each edition of Les Fleurs du mal, together with multiple English translations — most of which are exclusive to this site and are now available in digital form for the first time ever.

Fresh flea market finds. This time I took a trip to Riihimäki, to two big flea markets, #femmatori and #riihimäenkellari. Was totally blown away by the amount & variety of LPs. Short walk from the train station. Warmly recommended! The black cd is Fred Frith.

O you most wise and beautiful of the angels.

Betrayed by God and cast down among mortals.

Hear my plea, for god is far away and you are always near.

A priest may hear confession,
but you know the sins and the whims that lurk behind men's eyes.

Lead me to precious jewels buried in the mire, find me gold with which to do great deeds.
