Misskey and the Misskey forks (ex: Firefish, Sharkey, etc) seem to also be prone to their storage drives filling with:

• logs
• npm cache
• yarn cache

The number one cause of Fediverse servers crashing seems to be the storage drives filling up with cached Fediverse user data — posts, profiles, avatar images, header images, etc.

But, Misskey and the Misskey forks (ex: Firefish, Sharkey, etc) also have an additional challenge that fills up their storage drives —

I've created an issue on the tracker as well, but figured I'd also try the greater fedi at large. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Recently, as in a few days ago, one of my users home and global timelines have gone blank. I advised them to log out/in, clear the cache in firefish and also to try a different browser. None of this seemed to have any effect. We are running 1.0.5-dev20 and have been for over a month. This seems to be the only user having the issue.

They are not a new user.

Dear Admins of Fediverse
As #Firefish / #Calckey still doesnt have "unsub" button like Mastodon: https://git.joinfirefish.org/firefish/firefish/-/issues/9727 e.g. - im talking about defederation.

What would be the best way to remove instance?

after i moved my account i should remove relays, then remove all tracking from existing account (to and from), wait few days to make everyone knows that "there is no connection" and then remove?

Did i just rebuilt my firefish software instance to allow my admin-user to make a user migration into infosec? Yup

Due to a large influx of SPAM accounts to https://nsfw.social and https://nsfw.lgbt we have taken the unfortunate step of setting all new signups/ accounts to be Silenced by default.

What this means is that for any account that is silenced, only their followers will be able to see their posts and any accounts they follow will have to confirm that they want to follow them back before the follow-follower relationship will be established.

Their public posts will also not show up in the Public, Local, or Global timelines by default.

Users can request to be un-Silenced by either sending a DM or chatting one of our admins and requesting that the Silence be lifted.

We will also be periodically reviewing new accounts and after a while, if we've determined that the account is not a SPAM account, we will un-Silence accounts ourselves.

Fun fact! When fediverse servers go down, they tend to create a fun cascading outage effect when they come back up and try to catch up on what they missed while they were down.... Running a lot of different servers on a shared platform with shared scaling concerns? All playing catchup at the same time? ...Makes for a real big 💣
